I was just thinking the same thing. I would love to see what Cynthia has been drawing and working on since I've begun reading the series, which was last year when I was very depressed and the gentleness of Jan Karon came across the pages and hugged me and gave me hope. Even the book that she illustrated about Father Tim made me very curious to see what he looked like and how she, "Cynthia," may have portrayed him. I love when people create things. I would love to see Mary Englebreit, Debbie Mumm or even Flavia do the illustrations. Get someone good because pictures do say so much and remain kind of indelible on one's mind's eye. Forgive me, but don't use the person who did the black and white illustrations of people inside of the books - they were vague which is problably what you wanted, but we need some good characatures of Mitford people with good warm colors. Maybe there's someone at Focus on the Family who would be interested in illustrating. I saw your article in Focus on the Family's magazine. What an honor that must have been. I would be proud to be "noticed" by Dr. James Dobson.
I don't know what year it was, but I heard about your books on the Dick Staub show that used to be in Chicago - and I've been collecting your books ever since; some from the Literary Guild and some in book stores.
Well, anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Love your work and your mission. Thank you for the inspiration you are. Taffy, a fan.
