Anyone out there reading this one! I find it so interesting to re-read and learn more about Mitford that I missed before. I love reading the chapter about moving the amoure.(sp)!!

I think it's this book that Buck turns around and starts again!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Dear SonjaO, welcome to this BB!
We are really re-reading, but we agreed in reading one book per month (well, exactly, some are reading quicker, but we will discuss one book per month) starting in January with AHIM. (This is our way to "get ready" for the 9th book expected in October.) This means that OTC will be discussed in May, and we also prefer having the re-read thread in the main section (The Mitford Series), as our discussion could be a spoiler for those reading for the first time.
We'll be really glad to meet you in our re-read discussion!
Again, welcome in Cyber-Mitford!

Hello folks, I have a question. Does re-reading help with this withdrawl I seem to be having? I just found this wonderful site a couple of days ago, and this is my first time trying to contact fellow "mitfordians".

Hey Tray, being not a native English-speaker, I don't fully understand what you mean with your question, but I'm sure you will enjoy it here. Try to open the main section "The Mitford Series" and you will meet a lot of friends!

Tray, I still suffer withdrawal and I've read every single Mitford book...at least twice..some three or four...I am so addicted...but I learn something new each time I re-read.......Leanna

Re-reading the series definitely helps the withdrawl symptoms. I'm working on the 4th time thru.I have picked up on things I'd forgotten and different things I sort of misseed before. It's great to start the new year with "Old Friends". 4 years in a row! I'm going to try the audio books next, maybe read-a-long!

I'm not a big re-reader of books but I can sense a withdrawal when I finish the series. I'm about to start "A Common Life" and know the end is near!! :( Guess I'll be doing what I'm not used to! ;)

LeslieinTN, that's a wonderful idea, you will discover much more than during the first reading. Welcome to Cyber-Mitford!

Wow -- I had no idea this forum existed! What a treat. I haven't enjoyed a book series so much since the Anne of Green Gables series I read (and re-read!) so many years ago. I haven't had time to re-read them yet, but plan to begin soon. Right now I'm loving the cookbook!

Speaking of Anne of Green Gables (which was one of my all time favorite series growing up and I'm not ashamed to admit is the reason my daughter's middle name is Anne with an E, thank you!!), it would be interesting to see a movie series developed off of the Mitford Series. I know movies made off books always lose so much content, but it would be fun, nonetheless!

Thank you for the welcome, Maria Mlada!

Hey Roonie, welcome here! Hope to see you in the main section (The Mitford Series) as well.
And as for Anne - my great favorite as well. At the age of 12 I developed my "reading record" with this book: 60 pages/h smile.gif

Hello, all! Wow...I thought these discussion groups were just for talking about the particular book! You all are chatting about lots of interesting stuff...wish you would come over to the main General Discussion category!

Do all of you know about the First International Mitford Homecoming to be held in June in NC near Asheville? This will be a cozy gathering of only people registered on the bulletin board. The registration fee is only $85 and MS. KARON WILL BE THERE! You might have noticed in the new announcement of her fall tour that she will only consider accepting invitations of 1500 or more people. We are only going to have 200 people, therefore, you are guaranteed the opportunity to meet her. She will read some excerpts from the final book due in October....she will not autograph anything...she doesn't do book signings due to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. This is the opportunity of a lifetime and we encourage all her bulletin board fans to join us. Click on the thread about Homecoming for more information or PM me....

I've just finished reading Sudden Sea by R. A. Scotti (about the 1938 hurricane ~ very interesting read since I live in New England and know many of the areas mentioned in the book) and will starting reading Out To Canaan tonight. I can hardly wait!!! As much as I enjoy other books, I was beginning to have withdrawal and need my Mitford fix!
