View Full Version : DELECTABLE HAM IN PORT WINE

This recipe originated with Christian Brothers wines. The sauce is so good that it makes a great entree for unexpected company. If you would like the recipe for a 5 lb ham, email me at raffmjr@aol.com.

1 cup Christian Brothers Ruby Port; 1 cup brown sugar; 1/4 cup prepared mustard (Gulden's brown mustard is good); canned pineapple slices and maraschino cherries. Combine the Port, sugar and mustard in saute pan, heat to simmering to cook off alcohol. Add slices of canned Hafnia (comes in 1 lb. tins which last for months in the fridge - check the expiration date)or other Danish ham. Ham heats up almost immediately and is already cooked. Add pineapple and cherries. Then transfer to serving platter. Serve with instant mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetable, and you're done!
