2 lbs (southern style) hash browns, thawed
1 stick margarine
1 onion chopped
16 oz sour cream
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1-2 cups cheddar cheese, grated

1 "sleeve" crackers, crushed

Saute the chopped onion in margarine. In a large bowl combine sour cream, soup, cheese and onion/margarine. Stir in hash browns. Salt/pepper to taste. Spoon into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Melt margarine; stir in crackers. Sprinkle over potatoes in pan. Bake at 350 degrees (why isn't there a "degree" symbol on the typewriter??) for 1 hour.
