Why???

You have a thread of Out to Canaan and you immediately ask if you should read another book before the one before OTC? Does not fit! OTC is my favorite novel with so many different topics, you might never tun out.

For instance: How many of us were thrilled the first time we read the book and Buck appeared at the door on Christmas Eve - back from Mississippi. Couldn't do it. Had to come back to Mitford and he came "just for this." Talk to me about it.

Hi Phyllis - this is my favorite of the MItford novels! I know what you mean when you felt thrilled when Buck returned. To me, this was when he let the Lord into his life. Not when he was taught how to pray or when he actually turned his life over, but when he - on his own accord - showed back up 'cause he knew there was something better for him in Mitford. Without really knowing it, he had just let the door open for the Lord to enter. It is so terrific to know it really does happen that way!
