Nice to see you here Evergreen! In the island where I live there is a sign on the road to the beach that says "Evergreen". I think of you every time I see it.
Tell us how are you doing.

Myrna Joy finally checking in, too!
![]() I've gained 3-4 pounds since our trip to Germany and haven't been able to lose them. One day I'm up, the next down, and am finding it hard to be as disciplined as I used to be. I must get back on track, as I have close to ten pounds to dispose of!! ![]() I'm still reading and studying the Gospels and am now in Luke. Last week I started a study of Jesus and women that has been very interesting! I haven't been studying my Spanish or German much, as I spend a lot of time watering and weeding in the rose, flower, veggie, and berry garden areas. This fall I plan to get back to my languages! I haven't been writing anything either but have bought a couple writing books I've begun to read. Oh, I do write and send out a "Spiritual Sister Circle" letter every week or two to a small group of women. I'll try to flutter on over here every week to gather with the rest of you on this butterfly bush! Blessings, Myrna Joy |

Myrna Joy- so GLAD to see you! I don't like it one bit when you aren't here. Seems to me that we all have flown the same path this summer, but we'll be okay. I would love to hear about your trip. Do you still watch the newborn? I chuckled that you are reading books on writing. Me, too! when I get a chance that is.
Good for you on your spiritual journey. Maybe share with us a sample of the newsletter?

Hi Butterflies ,
I'm going to report that I have not gained weight and have just decided to speed up my walking even if it is humid. Today my mood is alittle glum from too much work and work problems. This will pass. I am expecting company in a few days for 2-3 days. Hope the weather stays nice and I can cook most of the meals outside. So glad to see Evergreen back. Stay with us. We like you. I'm eating more fruit and veggies this week. Hope all is going well with each of you, Cynthia J in Iowa |

Thanks for welcoming me back, Susan! It's nice to know I was missed!
I don't watch the baby regularly anymore, but I did have her all day yesterday! The trip was FABULOUS, and we saw such awesome scenery and spent time with some wonderful people! OUr day-long trip down the Rhine with castle after castle and cathedral/church/chapel after c/c/c was a high point for me. Another high point was staying in a medieval walled town in France one night! Our hotel was built in the 1500's, and the streets were cobblestone, etc. I'll try to post bit from one or two of my latest SC Letters soon. Myrna Joy |

I have completed my move. I am unpacked for the essentials - rooms you need to live in. Mom helped me unpack so I know the room some things are in just not exactly where some things are. I culled a lot of stuff and gave it away or found homes for it, but I still find things and think "I can't believe I moved this! Why???"
Hot, humid and hazy in Iowa the month that I have been here. Ick, ick, ick. Waiting for fall (winter really). I've moved from a village of 71 to a small city (by Iowa standards) of 25,000. Culture shock, but will make the best of it. I am told the longer I live here the smaller this place will get. I'm walking again, thinking of you as I do so. Evergreen |

I found this the other day and printed it out. There is no author, but it is often quoted by Elisabeth Elliot. I though others here might like it.
