Happy Saturday,
We did not get anymore snow during the night, but it is very cold at 17 degrees with strong North winds. The snow we got on Friday lingers on the ground. Still looking for Spring around here.It must be right around the corner.
I am going to town(8 1/2 miles) and was told by neighbor , Sue that the road around the lake is alittle slippery. That 8 1/2 miles will be slow. Then I will just mill around the house and see what the day brings.Next week is very busy, so I am taking this weekend very easy.
Hope this finds all of you feeling fine and happy.

Sorry Andrea don't know French or Spanish, but learning Spanish is in my bucket list of things to do this year. I did take two years of it in high school but that was so long ago....I can hardly remember what I went into a room for never mind the Spanish from high school!
One of the other things on my list was to take yoga classes, and I have and they are fabulous - I am having such a good time with the classes that it almost feels like it is not exercise.
I had decide that I had too many things that I thought about doing yet all I was doing was thinking about them and not acting on any of them. Life seemed then to consist only of going to work and coming home with each day passing faster, and that elusive "when I have time/or money" was never going to happen. So small steps for me. Each time I try to move in that direction I am growing and happier.
Well happy Saturday everyone. I will spend a little time on the porch then off to work.
Blessing to all - P

Good morning, Mitford.

Andrea, I can't help you with either. I only had one year of French and none of Spanish.
Cynthia J, I hope your snow season stops soon.
Patricia Anne, take small bites at those apples one at a time.

Yesterday was a glorious day on the golf course. I drove the ball nicely again and managed to putt well. The intermediate game is still pretty ragged. I've got to get back to the pro for the rest of my lessons. It was in the high 60s and low 70s. Unfortunately, chilly weather is to return tonight.

Ole Miss defeated my U. of Memphis Tigers, so we'll have to come back next season. We have one of the best recruit class in the country so maybe we will be back in the NCAA instead of the NIT next year. All in all, we had low expectations of the team at the beginning of the season and were pleasantly surprised.

Have a wonderful weekend, Mitfordians.

Good morning, Mitford friends. It is a beautiful spring morning here --44 degrees at my house heading for the low 70's! Of course, Monday we will be back to highs in the low 50's.

Patricia Ann == I think baby steps may be the only way some of us make progress. Glad you are enjoying your Yoga classes.

Cynthia drive carefully.

Andrea == I can put together a couple of phrases or short sentences in Spaniksh still, I think. I understand mre than I can say. I can sometimes pick out at least a general idea of what I read.
I had more French in high school & college, but don't remember as much.
I know a very few words in Icelandic.
& know a bit of Japanese -- mostly manners at this point or simple shopping.

Juli, glad you had a good golf day!

Well, I am back to square one for my minister. He bid way too low on the last house he offered on & lost that one too.
Please pray that I can find something else quickly & that he is learning that there is competition out there.

Blessings to all. Hope you can relax some today!
Lack of use.

It's a gorgeous day here!
Patricia Anne, that's so true about moving ahead with small steps! I've got too many varied jobs to do in the next few days --(I'm kind of all over the place and a bit overwhelmed.)
Yoga is great! I took a class years ago and really should go back to it. My friend does "hot yoga". She says that the room gets heated up to over 100 degrees and the workout is incredibly challenging. She lost a lot of weight with this.

May I please vent a moment? Last night I visited my brother and his wife to bring a BD gift to their dd. We have a good relationship but they are just so amazingly unhospitable! I know my brother was raised better than this. I don't think they realize it but they do nothing to make me feel welcome in their home. No seat, no drink or even much conversation.I got the feeling that my gift was welcome but I was not. They had another guest who had their undivided attention at the time. Their home is kept perfectly immaculate at all times and they rarely entertain. I think they have no idea how treat guests, so I'm trying not to be hurt but .. ouch.... Lesson learned here: Hospitality matters A LOT!
Good day to everyone here before and after me!

Good morning- It did snow yesterday, we have a couple of inches on the ground, but there was a lot of wind, too. Today seems still, no snow, so it must be over. Tomorrow it will start warming up. I thought of our Oklahoma folks, also, there's a little patch of OK that could get 8 inches. Those at the games need to get home.

I took two years of Spanish in high school and one in college, plus I watch Dora a lot. No French. Andrea, I don't know about the tunnel cake but I made a great cake yesterday. You start with a chocolate cake mix and add instant pudding. Slice the cake to make two thin layers and fill them with a wonderful filling made of butter, sugar, and vanilla, a thickening of flour and milk. Tastes like a Hostess Cupcake! I found it in a Taste of Home cookbook and Morgan wanted it for her birthday.

Cynthia, hope you are driving carefully and not hotrodding on that ice.

Juli, I thought of you golfing yesterday as I watched my snow. I'm glad you had fun with it.

patricia anne, I love your name, and yes! That's the way to do it. I want to play the piano, speak another language, write, always wanted to be a runner. I think that if Father Tim did it at this age I can, too.

Have a good one, everybody-

PA, we were posting at the same time. I'd be mad, too. I have been in situations like that and its always unbelievable. Then they wonder why they have no friends. Seems like there's always more to the story, though, justfogetabutit. What all do you have going on that's overwhelming you?

Good morning!

I have no plans except to go grocery shopping. I guess strawberry pie or shortcake is going to be on the menu since strawberries are 5 lbs for $5 today only. Les is still sleeping! He was in bed by 9 pm last night. He was really tired.

It's supposed to rain here this afternoon and we could see some snow but they're not calling for any accumulation.

Enjoy your Saturdays!
